What is DHI hair transplant method ?
The DHI, Direct Hair Transplant, is a procedure where channels are opened and the grafts are implanted simultaneously using an implanter called CHOI pen to ensure the channels will match the implanted follicle’s size. Although it varies from a person to another, this method is commonly used for those under the age of 50. According to the Norwood scale, the DHI method will produce better results for patients with a hair loss rate between 2, 3 and 4. The other methods shall give better results for patients with a hair loss rate between 5, 6, and 7.
What is the difference between the DHI and the other methods in terms of results and hair density?
Due to the use of CHOI Pens which have varies diameters of its blades according to each diameter of the channel, all the channels are going to be opened more smaller than other techniques, that leads to guarantee high density (10 grafts more per each cm2 for example) comparing it to other techniques.
Also Healing process is more faster than other methods.
N.B. it is a common misconception that either technique offers better results. The results do not depend on the technique used alone, it also depends on the doctor, equipments, and quality of the patient’s hair and muscular structure.
